C.E. and Daj - Houston Weddings - Engagement Shoot

Posted on Monday, June 16, 2008 at 02:14AM by Registered CommenterJoe Cogliandro in | Comments3 Comments | EmailEmail

C.E. and Daj won a free engagement shoot from us at the Weddings in Houston Bridal Soiree back In January and decided to cash in this past week. We met at the Tasting Room for a couple glasses of wine and some fine cheese before the session... Jonathan one of the owners dropped by to say hi as he was a past colleague of C.E.'s. Props to the class and comfortable feel the guys at the Tasting Room created as it is just the sort of place Houston needed. If you have never been there it is a happening place from Wed thru Saturday and has a wonderful atmosphere for a romantic night out or just an afternoon conversation place. Daj and C.E. rocked the shoot... I seriously enjoyed getting to know you and was so happy you guys won this shoot free shoot.

Cheers

Rob and Kathy - Engagement Shoot - New York, NY

Rob and Kathy live in NY and will be getting married in Puerto Vallarta next May. I flew up this Spring to meet them for the first time and shoot their engagements and engagement party. The trip started off on a bad note with my iPhone being stolen within a few hours of me arriving in NY, luckily for me Rob and Kathy had the perfect response Cuban Food and Mango Mojitos at Ideya, a small cuban cafe in SOHO. A new favorite drink!!!! NY... NY... so many cool places to shoot. We are jealous down here in Houston. You have perfectly lit steets... and tall buildings... Graffiti... and people who do not stop and stare if you are taking photos! Down here in Houston people will stop, stare and interrupt your mojo.

We have the pleasure of photographing Houston Texans Lineman Bryan Pittman and his beautiful fiance Suzy's wedding on May 24th in Houston Texas. Sheila Robertson who takes care of the Houston Texans Cheerleaders did Suzy's Hair and Makeup. If you are looking for someone who will take care of you and go the extra mile please check Sheila's website by clicking on her name above. We met up this spring for a few drinks at Max's Wine Dive before our shoot just to relax a bit. We then took off to downtown Houston for the rest of the evening. Couples like Brian and Suzy are the reason we love what we do... The spark between the two of them was the perfect combination of fun, passion and love. If you get a chance leave some blog love in the comments for Bryan and Suzy!!! THX

A sweet moment before we left

3 Fantastic Houston Weddings - From Royal Oaks to Galveston... we are getting caught up on our blogging YEA!!!

Posted on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 01:59PM by Registered CommenterJoe Cogliandro in , , , | Comments2 Comments | EmailEmail

Here are 3 fantastic Houston weddings that we have not talked about. Jennifer and Michael - Houston wedding, Angie and Taylor - Galveston wedding and Taylor and Ethan - Houston wedding. All three of these weddings were filled with class, style and romantic moments that we got to capture for them to remember for the rest of their lives. As it is a long post will only provide a few comments. Enjoy!!! :)

Jennifer And Michael were married at Grace Presbyterian Church and had their reception at Lakeside Country Club

This is my favorite image of the two of them together... just a real moment of feeling and love as helped her out the chair

Angie and Taylor were married in Galveston Their reception was at the Garten Verian and was one of those super dance filled lively nights with a fantastic band. Seriously once the dance floor opened up nobody stopped!! I loved this wedding as Marco and I shot together and had the chance to really stay back and capture the event as it was... very little directing aside from the formals... this is the way photojournalism should be... Angie and Taylor were so comfortable and focused on each other and their friends that it freed us up to get some very close photos without feeling obtrusive to the culture of the wedding. We try hard to not make a ripple on the wedding day so that it flows as they desire it to be... we felt this wedding really reflected that.

<p align="left" style="text-align: left;"

two of my favorite images from their wedding "Marco's shots" that just show the passion and love between them

Taylor and Ethan were married and had their reception at Royal Oaks Country Club in Houston... I believe this one image sums up the beauty of their wedding day... I have known taylor for close to 12 years now and their family is like a second family to me. It was an honor and joy to shoot their wedding. I love being apart of weddings with friends and family around as the environment just opens up around me... and people really let me in... of course with Ethan and Taylor... It was like photographing family... years and years of history.

Day 6 - OLD SCHOOL

Posted on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 11:12AM by Registered CommenterJoe Cogliandro in , | Comments1 Comment | EmailEmail

We have decided to start highlighting some of the great professionals in the Houston and Miami areas that are dedicated to making your wedding the perfect day you have always dreamed for. First up!!! Laura Kay Photography Laura shot with me a little as a second when she first started shooting weddings. They are currently shooting weddings in Houston but soon will be moving to the DC area. So all you DC Photogs... LOOK OUT!!! My first ever engagement shoot was with them 9 years ago. Josh (her husband) and I have been friends for years. When we moved down to Texas we touched base again. Laura has been building her business and raising their two kids WHILE Josh has been serving in IRAQ the last three years. I do not understand how she does it or many other Mom's" who are full time photographers and raising their children, much less doing that while Josh was overseas. I have so much respect for you Laura and Josh... and all you other women and men (our very own Marco) out their pulling double duty with the amount of time it takes to be involved in your kids lives and working on a business. side note... Look at this... we were ahead of the game even back then in our style... no blah blah blah posed photos.....
